Message: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus 11&version=MSG

"I am the Lord who brought you out of Egypt to be your God; Therefore be holy, because I am holy. These are the regulations concerning animals, birds, every living thing that moves in the water and every creature that moves about on the ground. You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between living creatures that may be eaten and those that may not be eaten."

Leviticus 11: 45-47

Here are two examples to help you understand all those regulations which the Lord commanded to the Israelites:

1. The Dean of a Medical School addressed all the medical students, "Welcome everybody! In the coming few years you are going to learn lots of skills of what to do and what not to do. It's not easy to be here and it's not easy to learn all that. If you don't learn well, someone would die because of you."

2. The Staff Sergent said to some new Marine, "You come here to be trained as the best. I tell you what to do and not to do. You need to learn hard and learn to obey because if you don't, many Marines will die because of you."

Well, Nadab and Abihu died because God didn't want more people to die because of disobedience. God has been trying all his best to teach us to listen and obey so that we can be holy for He is holy. We do not know what is holy unless we know what He wants us to do.

Do we need to follow all those regulations in Leviticus? God said that those regulations were to the Israelites so according to quite a number of commentators we do not need to follow strictly everything there. That's why Christians can eat pigs now and some other things. On the other hand, there are lots of animals that scientists found out thousands of years later why human beings cannot eat them.

It is impossible to be holy, to distinguish what is unclean and clean, what to eat and not to eat unless we learn God's Word and we have a personal relationship with God. Only God can help us to know what is holy and how to become holy. We cannot! Do not step into the trap of the Israelites to 'take the Law to be God' and kick out Jesus! We desperately need Jesus! Jesus is Lord!

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thanks you for bringing me out of Egypt to experience "Exodus". Help me to know it deep down from my heart that I can never be holy unless you help me daily. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Praise the Lord that yesterday our whole family of four started a five day holiday to Seattle and Portland. Michelle is so joyful that she received the doctor's approval to have a holiday!

My son, Ignatius, completed his three weeks mission in Ethiopia a few days ago.We are so joyful to welcome him home and know that he experienced God mightily in that three weeks. His one word of experience is "JOY"! Please click this link to read his wonderful sharing:http://21ethiopiandays.wordpress.com/

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christians to have daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus.
There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.
2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters)to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day. I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.
3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a discipler. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online discipler to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!
