"A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord." Leviticus 27:30
When a little boy says, "It's mine!" and fights for some toys with another boy, we may smile and shook our head. When a young man says, "It's mine!" with an unfriendly look at his friend worrying to lose his girlfriend, we may think about how to help these two young fellow to avoid a fight. But when God says, "It's mine!", then we need to listen and obey. Tithing is not a choice but a "must"!
To finish the whole book with the last five verses about tithing, God is reminding you today what is important and the thing you need to do and teach your children, relatives and friends to do. You may not be able to understand the other verses in this chapter for commentator, Laird Harris says, "It is difficult to understand this section (vv. 1 - 29) fully because we know so little about the details of dedicating things to the Lord in ancient Israel. But, it is not difficult to understand the importance of tithing! So, if you are still thinking of whether you should tithe (offering one tenth of what you have to the Lord), it is not the time for thinking but doing. And it's always not only tithing but always more, more than you can offer! And then you will know the joy of giving! It is such a JOY!
When God says, "It's mine!", you need to believe that it is very important. And it concerns you, for He wants to be your God and not money to be your god!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to know and teach others to know what is yours and what is mine. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Today is my regular day off and the four of us had a very good time in Granville Island! The joy of togetherness!
My son, Ignatius, completed his three weeks mission in Ethiopia a few days ago.We are so joyful to welcome him home and know that he experienced God mightily in that three weeks. His one word of experience is "JOY"! Please click this link to read his wonderful sharing:http://21ethiopiandays.wordpress.com/

Thank you, Bishop Silas, for plugging away on this important discipline of the daily quiet time for 377 days now. I am reminded by what Charles Spurgeon said: "I would rather teach one man to pray than ten men to preach."
