"The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement...I will destroy from among his people anyone who does any work on that day. You shall do no work at all." Leviticus 23: 27,30-31
"Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it must be put to death; whoever does any work on that day must be cut off from his people." Exodus 31: 14
In vain you rise early and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat - for he grants sleep to those he loves. Psalm 127: 2
Wow! Today Jesus told me something I did not expected from reading this chapter. He brought up two other passages reminding me the importance of stopping working when He commanded us to stop working.
We can have a whole day talking about the importance of feast days and the comparison of the feast days of Moses time and feast days of Christian churches. But, today Jesus reminded us on the importance of REST.
There are more and more sleeping clinics in North America. More and more people can not sleep well or cannot sleep at all sometimes. Lots of people are taking sleeping pills, and if they do not take the pills, they cannot sleep! This Sunday a 91 year-old member of our church told me joyfully that he could sleep now without taking any sleeping pills after hearing what I told him about not relying on the pills but on Jesus! Wonderful! Praise the Lord!
Do we know the importance of not working and resting in the Lord! If not, we may sooner or later go to a sleeping clinic seeking for solution, and that might be a dead end!
God promises that all those He loves can have good sleep! You need to pray and claim His promise!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Teach me to know how to say NO, how to stop working and how to rest in you daily. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Don't worry, Michelle is fine. Thanks for some of our friends concerned, sending greetings and asking about how bad Michelle is. That is a kind of side effect which the doctor said would happen. She is better today. Anyway she needs to have two to three kinds of pills for two years. One is a chemo pill changing the cancer cells into healthy cells. Incredible! The pill was invented in 1994 by a Chinese person. Since then, patients who have APL like Michelle have a better survival rate from 50% to now 80%!
My son, Ignatius, completed his three weeks mission in Ethiopia a few days ago.We are so joyful to welcome him home and know that he experienced God mightily in that three weeks. His one word of experience is "JOY"! Please click this link to read his wonderful sharing:http://21ethiopiandays.wordpress.com/
