Bible Study

The Jews asked Jeremiah to ask God but then did not believe what Jeremiah told them of not going to Egypt was from God. They disobeyed God's command and went to Egypt, taking Jeremiah with them. They thought Jeremiah's presence would guarantee God's protection.

Jeremiah prophesied that God would send Nebuchadnezzar's army against Egypt and destroy its armies and all its gods (vv. 10-13). Egypt, the country in which the Jews sought security would be defeated.

The spiritual principle we learn in this tragedy is that there is no real security or protection outside of God's will!

Do you have similar kind of experience? You ask God for his direction but in fact you have already made up your mind! Have you done that before? Don't do it again!

My Spiritual Journal

What I got from Jesus today is: Why ask if you have decided?

It would surely be a serious mistake to pray, attend church, participate in all kinds of ministries without sincerely desiring to follow the Lord's command.

Why? It's because of our arrogant, pride, stubborn, unteachable and unfaithful!

We really need to learn and live out to be more and more humble, teachable and faithful before it's too late!

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help us to be a teachable and faithful servant of yours. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
