Bible Study

The primary sin of the Israelites was breaking their covenant with God through idolatry - worshiping false "gods." Ezekiel says clearly,

"How I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices. and they will know that i am the Lord; I did not threaten in vain to being this calamity on them." Ezekiel 6: 9-10

Do you think you have taken part in similar kind of sins as those Israelites? Do you have relative and friends you know that God wants to use you to save them from eternal destruction?

My Spiritual Journal

What I got from Jesus today is: God is not kidding! Repent!

Lots of time we think that God is kidding because we may think God loves us so much and he would never punish us like how he punished the Israelites. Are you sure? Why he can do the same thing to you and he did to the Israelites? Why?

Actually, lots of time we become guilty of idolatry whenever we give priority to other things ahead of God, trying to find satisfaction, pleasure, meaning or help from temporary worldly things rather than placing their trust in God alone.

God has a bottom-line and no one knows his bottom-line. What we know is that he is not kidding to us that he will punish us if we do the same thing as those Israelites!

Dear Holy Spirit,

Reveal in us our sins so that we can repent. Help us to know that you are not kidding to us that your judgement will come if we keep on staying away from you. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
