Please click the links below to Jeremiah 46:

"Do not fear, O Jacob my servant, for I am with you," declares the Lord.
"Though I completely destroy all the nations among which I scatter you,
I will not completely destroy you.
I will discipline you but only with justice;
I will not let you go entirely unpunished."
Jeremiah 46: 28

Bible Study

Chapters 46 to 51 contains prophecies regarding God's judgment against foreign nations. God had appointed Jeremiah not only as a prophet to Judah, but also "a prophet to the nations" (Jer. 1:5) Jeremiah prophesied that not only would the Babylonians defeat Egypt at Carchemish, but they would also defeat the Egyptian armies on their own land and those Egypt's gods could not rescue them from defeat.
Jeremiah told the Jews that they did not have to fear for complete destruction. It They would be punished for their sins, but the nation would survive and then return to the promised land and to a place of favor with God.

My Spiritual Journal

What I got from Jesus today is: Why Being Punished by God?

It is so sad that God says through Jeremiah that he will not let us go entirely unpunished if we are in sin. He will even use all kinds of possible methods to punish us just like he punished the Jews in Jeremiah's time!
For what? Why? God says, "You need to be disciplined."

Well, as a disciple of Jesus we need to be disciplined until we really become a disciple of Jesus. But, due to our stubborn and unfaithful, those discipline strategy may turn into severe punishment until we are willing to return to his Kingdom discipleship.

Are you willing to be teachable or to be punished for your stubborn and unfaithful.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be more teachable so that we would not be punished by you and that we can become your faithful servants. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
