This chapter is the second one concerning Babylon's doom prophesies that the Lord would ensure the complete overthrow of Babylon in order to rescue his people from oppression..
In the last days, following God's final judgments on the earth during the trubulation period, Christ will overthrow the whole world system - symbolically called "Babylon the Great" (Rev. 18: 2) - with all its sin, rebellion and immorality. The destruction will be God's judgment on a world dominated by Satan.

What I got from Jesus today is: Don't fall with Babylon!
How glory Babylon once was but when God's judgment came even Babylon could not stand. But, this chapter is not only talking about the fall of Babylon some 2.300 years ago but also the Babylonian Culture dominating the world since that time till now and to the end of the world.
What is Babylonian Culture? The easiest word to explain is money, power and sex to the extreme! We can see how greedy people being trapped into the Babylonian Culture can be as in verse 13. Everyone is just like a senseless "animal", not human being! (v. 17)
That's luxury to the extreme, greed to the extreme, sex to the extreme, power to the extreme, Satan-likeness to the extreme!
Do you know how much have you been influenced by the Babylonian Culture?
Let me tell you, you will never know because our eyes have been blinded by the Deceiver! We need to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal our true self to us daily so that we know whether we are Kingdom-like or Babylonian-like, whether we are in the lifestyle of Satan-likeness or Christ-likeness!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to be trapped by the Babylonian Culture so that we can be more like you day after day. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
