Today’s Reading: Acts 22

The crowd listened to Paul until he said this. Then they raised their voices and shouted, “Rid the earth of him! He’s not fit to live!” Acts 22: 22
What I received from Jesus today is the limitation of our listening ability. The way that God does things is far beyond our understanding, but we often stop listening, thinking that this is not our tradition. Is tradition more important than God’s new ways of doing things? Is structure more important than God’s preparation? Why do we as Christians judge and accuse other Christians so easily? Do we know that we have to be accountable for all the wrong judgments to God’s servants in God’s time?
It’s so funny that the crowd listened until Paul said something that they could not accept. More than that, they decided to kill rather than to clarify. I have seen many examples of getting rid of leaders in similar ways. Every time I asked myself, “How can they do that to God’s servant?” Jesus always gives me this answer, “They did that to me. Are you prepared?”
