We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Romans 6:2

Yesterday the theme of my post is “Access granted”. Today I experienced that in a very special way. This morning I went into Richmond Centre, and as I went in a shop, the security alarm sounded. I didn’t notice but when I left, the alarm sounded again. I was stopped by a staff there and he looked at me and said, “You didn’t steal anything here.” I said no, he looked at my eyes and waved me to go. Then I tried to go in two stores and the alarm sounded. So I stepped out before entering. I gave my wallet to my wife, tried again, and it sounded. Then I gave my jacket to her and it sounded. I dare not to try again and left Richmond Centre. When I went home, I took off everything I wore and searched everything. I had to find out why. After ten minutes, I found out that there was a small white security chip inside my new jeans which I bought in LA in September. 'Access denied' because I had a chip I didn’t know! Actually, when I bought that jeans, they forgot to take the chip out and when I left that shop or other shops, the alarm sounded but no one noticed or care. But today someone noticed and I nearly got into big trouble!

We say and know that we died to sin and we can not live in sin any longer. But in fact, do we know whether we have a similar kind of chip, sin which forbids us to gain access to the grace of God?

There are five “offer” and five “obey” in the whole chapter. Who do we offer everything to in order to gain access for those things we need? Who do we really obey to? Who reigns in you?

Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to shine upon us to see that “chip” we have that we cannot gain access to the grace of God. Let’s remove it as soon as possible that we can enter into the grace of God.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank you for giving me a wonderful opportunity today to experience your warning. Help me to have a spiritual check up daily that I can gain access to your grace. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
