DAY 109 - To Destroy or to Build

Today’s Reading: Acts 20

Please read Acts 20: 1 – 38 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears. Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” Acts 20: 29-32

What I received from Jesus today is a wonderful encouragement! For so many years I have been dragged into lots of discouragements whenever some people arise to distort the truth in order to draw other people to their side and destroy the church. It is not so painful when those group of people are from outside, but it is very painful when they are “from our own”! Jesus reminds me that one of the many names of Satan is “destroyer”, and the main job of Satan is to destroy! What can I expect!

So what I need to do is not to be disturbed by those involved in destructive activities. Instead I need to focus on building up disciples of Christ, like what Paul did to the leaders of Ephesus. He spent three years teaching them, and being with them day and night to build up the relationship and trust. How blessed and moving it was to see the intimate relationship with those leaders Paul trained. I pray that I can have such a group of leaders with God’s grace!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to focus on you when I am faced with the destruction work of the Destroyer. Open my life that I can sacrifice my all to build up leaders to extend your Kingdom. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
